First Day of School Blues
I'm crying my eyes out. I HATE school. I love having my kids home with me reading books to them, playing games like Pictureka and Bananagrams, and watching great movies like Planet Earth and The Three Musketeers, going to diving lessons and swim team, doing art projects, eating cookie dough 'till we want to vomit, visiting museums, singing at the tops of our lungs while we clean the kitchen, reciting Brian Regan.......Now I have to ship them off to the lone and dreary world where the principals and teachers know what's "best" for them. This world is seriously messed up.

We have a little girl who lives next door named Sammy. Her parents adopted her from China when she was a baby. She and Anna have been wonderful friends since they were three. They aren't members, Sammy goes to a private school, and she is WWWAAAYYY serious about gymnastics so they don't get to play a lot. But when they do, there is this magic that happens and I truly think they are kindred spirits. They are absolutely darling together, they never fight, and they can't wait to be together again. The other day Sammy ran over between school and gymnastics to give Anna a poem that she wrote. It is decorated with rainbows, stars, and polka dots and it makes me bawl.
Friendship Poem
To Anna
You are my PEANUT to my BUTTER
The STAR to my BURST
The KEY to my HEART
The TREASURE to my BOX
The HEART to my BEAT
The MELODY of my SONG
The POP to my CORN
The ANGEL in my HEART
You are my BEST of my FRIEND
From Sammy
